How to Create a Match Pattern

What is a Match Pattern? Match Patterns are the engine of Catalinks. They dictate which specific products or collections trigger the rule, and where those pages should link to.

Step 1: Open Your Rule

  1. From the Rules dashboard, click into the Rule you just created.

  2. Scroll down to the Match Patterns section and click Add Pattern.

Step 2: Define the Trigger (The "If") Tell Catalinks which pages should display these links.

  1. Select the Target Page Type (e.g., Product).

  2. Choose your Match Criteria (e.g., Product Tag).

  3. Enter the value (e.g., snowboards). Example: "If a Product has the tag 'snowboards', display the following links."

Step 3: Define the Destinations (The "Then") Tell Catalinks where to send the shopper (and the search engine crawlers).

  1. Click Add Link.

  2. Anchor Text: Enter the highly relevant keyword you want to use for the link (e.g., "Men's Powder Boards").

  3. Target URL: Paste the relative URL of the destination page (e.g., /collections/mens-powder-boards).

  4. You can add multiple destination links to a single pattern.

Step 4: Save and Sync Click Save. Catalinks will immediately begin scanning your catalog and automatically injecting these highly optimized links into the correct App Blocks across your store.
